About this role

Lightmatter is seeking a Chip Firmware Validation Engineer to develop and validate firmware for photonic AI processors and interconnects. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build robust embedded systems, conduct testing and reliability validation, and optimize the software stack for next-generation photonic products.

What you'll do

  • Develop and validate device software and firmware for photonic compute and interconnect products
  • Collaborate with photonics, analog, digital, systems, and network teams on control architecture
  • Debug embedded systems using GDB, JTAG, and logic analyzers
  • Design validation test plans and define product architecture requirements
  • Conduct data analysis and execute software stack optimization
  • Perform reliability and failure testing on photonic systems
