About this role

Lightmatter seeks an experienced Foundry Engineer to lead process technology development and manufacturing strategy for next-generation photonics-based AI chips. You'll coordinate with foundry partners, design teams, and supply chain to bring products from conception through high-volume production while ensuring yield and reliability standards.

What you'll do

  • Lead foundry process technology development and manufacturing strategies for photonics AI platform and chiplet communication fabric
  • Establish yield expectations, coverage metrics, and process monitoring mechanisms for silicon fabrication
  • Provide manufacturing solutions for integrated digital, analog, photonic, and laser devices
  • Collaborate with foundry suppliers to ensure specifications are met and work with DFM teams early in design
  • Develop silicon technology roadmap and product fabrication qualification and execution plans
  • Establish characterization metrics and methodologies to ensure reliable product operation over product lifetime
