About this role

Lila Sciences is seeking an Engineer I for their Research Operations team to operate high-throughput laboratory automation systems on a second shift (2 PM–10 PM) in Cambridge, MA. You'll execute automated workflows, prepare materials, troubleshoot equipment issues, and collaborate with scientists and engineers to support diverse life sciences research programs.

What you'll do

  • Operate integrated laboratory automation platforms (Hamilton, Lynx, Echo) and execute high-throughput workflows
  • Prepare, organize, and verify reagents, samples, labware, and consumables for workflow execution
  • Monitor workflows in real time, identify issues, perform first-line troubleshooting, and escalate complex problems
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and readiness checks to ensure reliable operation
  • Review quality-control outputs and accurately record experimental and process data to maintain integrity
  • Provide clear end-of-shift handoffs and communicate workflow status and open issues to teams
