About this role

Lumos seeks an experienced OSP Project Engineer to design and oversee fiber optic network construction projects, managing everything from CAD drawings and cost estimates to permitting and vendor coordination for their rapidly expanding FTTH infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Create detailed construction drawings and review OSP prints, CAD designs, and GIS data for compliance with project specifications
  • Estimate labor, materials costs, and perform design loss calculations; manage project budgets and timelines
  • Conduct data validation using Excel, SQL queries, and Snowflake to identify discrepancies and support engineering decisions
  • Coordinate with city officials on permitting processes, rights-of-way, and easement negotiations
  • Provide real-time project direction to team members and vendors; escalate contractual, technical, or scheduling risks
  • Oversee design-permitting vendors and collaborate with Sales to develop customer-specific network solutions
