About this role
Mapbox seeks a fullstack Software Development Engineer II to lead development on Studio, their flagship map design tool. You'll build performant React/TypeScript applications, solve complex architecture challenges, and collaborate with designers to create tools that enable beautiful map creation at scale.
What you'll do
- Lead development on Mapbox Studio's React/Redux frontend, shipping clean, testable, performant code
- Make informed technical decisions that shape the long-term vision for maps at Mapbox
- Build workflow tools and features that help map designers create beautiful maps faster
- Solve complex architecture problems in extensible, maintainable ways across the organization
- Participate in design critiques and provide technical guidance informed by deep understanding of constraints
- Reduce technical debt, optimize performance, monitor system health, and support teammates
