About this role

New Relic seeks an Associate Software Engineer for Infrastructure to design and operate scalable, resilient ingress solutions supporting global service mesh and load balancing. You'll work on automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DNS/CDN evolution while collaborating across teams to enable real-time observability at scale.

What you'll do

  • Design and operate scalable ingress data plane infrastructure for service mesh and load balancing
  • Build and maintain automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions across multi-cloud environments
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and support safe, incremental deployments across large fleets
  • Evolve DNS and CDN infrastructure to enable high-performance global service delivery
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and platform teams to break down silos and drive reliability
  • Support on-premises and multi-cloud infrastructure operations

  • Go or Python programming (3+ years)
  • AWS cloud platform (3+ years hands-on)
  • Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
  • CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP, TCP)
  • Service mesh or L7 proxy platforms (Envoy preferred)
  • Observability tools (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, New Relic)
  • Azure cloud networking (nice-to-have)
