About this role
Medra seeks a Systems Test Engineer to ensure peak uptime and reliability of their Physical AI Scientist platform at their San Francisco lab. You'll monitor daily robotic protocol runs, diagnose operational issues in real time, and collaborate with engineering to drive continuous improvements in this high-impact role supporting cutting-edge biological research.
What you'll do
- Monitor and maintain robot uptime across daily protocol runs, ensuring peak system efficiency
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues on-site using SOPs, playbooks, and system knowledge
- Escalate complex issues to engineering with detailed incident reports and relevant metadata
- Perform routine calibration checks and preventive maintenance on robots, peripherals, and consumables
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and observations to build a site-specific knowledge base
- Support engineering visits with hardware upgrades, software validation, and post-deployment test runs
