About this role
Mixpanel is seeking a Software Engineer to join the newly formed AI Platform team, where you'll design and build scalable infrastructure for AI agent development. You'll be responsible for core backend services, agent orchestration frameworks, evaluation systems, and operational infrastructure that empower AI development across the company.
What you'll do
- Design and develop core backend services, APIs, and microservices for secure AI model access
- Build scalable frameworks for multi-step agent workflows with task decomposition and persistent memory
- Create robust evaluation systems to measure reasoning quality, hallucination rates, and task success
- Architect high-performance serving infrastructure with strict latency and cost-efficiency guarantees
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, structured logging, and distributed tracing for deployed AI models
- Mentor junior engineers and advocate for software engineering best practices through code reviews
