About this role

Northwood seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the primary technical liaison between satellite customers and the company's ground station network. You'll guide customers through discovery, onboarding, and deployment while shipping code, troubleshooting integrations, and translating mission needs into engineering priorities.

What you'll do

  • Serve as primary technical contact for customers across capture, evaluation, onboarding, and post-deployment phases
  • Write code, debug integrations, and validate customer operations directly alongside engineering teams
  • Lead technical discovery, demos, and readiness reviews to understand customer missions and workflows in depth
  • Translate complex customer requirements into clear priorities for Engineering, Product, and Business Development
  • Support proposals, qualifications, and customer expansion initiatives with technical credibility
  • Identify friction points and adoption blockers to inform product and network development
