Software Engineer, Collections Experience

About this role

Join Notion's Collections Experience team to build and evolve the database block—the foundation for modeling work in Notion. You'll design new properties, views, and permission systems while collaborating across product and design to ship features that scale from simple lists to complex workflows.

What you'll do

• Design and ship new database properties and views to expand Notion's modeling capabilities
• Develop permission models that scale for large enterprise customers
• Partner with the Agent team to enable AI capabilities for database operations
• Collaborate with product and design to scope and execute ambiguous features
• Raise code quality standards through code review and technical design leadership
• Own features end-to-end across the full stack

What they're looking for

• 10+ years shipping production software
• TypeScript fluency (frontend and backend)
• Strong product instincts and scope management
• Experience with data models, databases, or permissions systems
• Full-stack development across UI and data layers
• Technical judgment on system design decisions
• Collaborative problem-solving with ambiguous requirements
• Curiosity about AI tools and LLM-driven experiences
