About this role

Nuro is seeking a Test Validation Engineer to design and maintain automated hardware-in-the-loop testing frameworks for autonomous driving ECU systems. You'll translate validation requirements into repeatable test cases, execute system testing on HIL benches, and collaborate across firmware and systems teams to ensure release readiness.

What you'll do

  • Build and evolve automated HIL validation frameworks for ADAS and autonomous driving ECU testing
  • Convert formal validation requirements into repeatable test cases covering nominal operation, faults, timing, and safety behavior
  • Execute and debug validation on HIL benches using vehicle network interfaces and fault injection techniques
  • Partner with firmware and systems teams to define test coverage and investigate failures
  • Support automated regression and release testing with firmware deployment and structured reporting
  • Maintain shared framework components as new vehicle platforms and ECU releases are introduced

  • Python programming and automated test framework development (pytest preferred)
  • Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) bench integration and embedded systems knowledge
  • Vehicle electrical architecture and automotive network protocols (CAN, Ethernet)
  • Test planning and experimental design with focus on safety and repeatability
  • Wiring harness diagrams and electrical schematic interpretation
  • Data analysis and test scripting (C/C++, Matlab/Simulink experience helpful)
  • Cross-functional communication and collaboration
  • Hands-on troubleshooting at circuit and module system levels
