iOS Engineer, Applied Foundations
About this role
OpenAI is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer for the Applied Foundations team to build core mobile experiences powering user authentication, account management, payments, and safety features across their apps. You'll own critical client-side systems and create reusable iOS frameworks that enable product teams to ship reliably and securely at global scale.
What you'll do
- Build and ship new iOS experiences showcasing AI capabilities
- Optimize app performance, reliability, and responsiveness globally
- Design and maintain shared iOS frameworks for account, trust, and commerce flows
- Establish testing frameworks and refine architecture for long-term maintainability
- Collaborate with product, design, research, and backend teams on high-impact features
- Provide technical leadership for OpenAI's iOS platform strategy
