Join OpenAI's infrastructure team to build and operate systems that power frontier research. You'll work on reliable, scalable infrastructure spanning networking, Kubernetes, provisioning, and observability—combining systems expertise with software engineering to support researchers at scale.

What you'll do

  • Build and operate reliable infrastructure for research workloads and research-facing services
  • Support systems across data infrastructure, processing, caching, search, observability, and cluster-wide services
  • Improve cluster bootstrapping, provisioning, automation, and deployment workflows
  • Debug and resolve issues across networking, compute, storage, orchestration, and service reliability layers
  • Build software and automation to reduce manual operational work and improve system reliability
  • Partner with researchers and infrastructure teams to translate system needs into durable solutions
