Software Engineer, Research - Human Data

About this role

Join OpenAI's Human Data team to build full-stack systems and infrastructure that enable AI models to learn from human feedback at scale. You'll work closely with researchers to translate alignment research into production pipelines and tools that shape how advanced models are trained and evaluated.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain full-stack systems for feedback collection, data labeling, and evaluation pipelines with strong security
• Translate experimental alignment research into scalable production infrastructure for inference and model training
• Design and iterate on user-facing tools and backend services supporting high-quality data workflows
• Partner with researchers and cross-functional teams to refine feedback loops and model interaction paradigms
• Drive infrastructure improvements enabling faster iteration and scaling across frontier models and ChatGPT
• Own technical solutions end-to-end from backend pipelines to user interfaces
