About this role

Join OpenAI's Scaled Abuse team to build backend systems that detect and prevent fraud at scale. You'll work at the intersection of engineering and abuse expertise, collaborating with trust & safety and security teams to protect OpenAI's products from sophisticated adversaries while maintaining a great user experience.

What you'll do

  • Design and build fraud detection and remediation systems balancing loss prevention, implementation costs, and user experience
  • Collaborate with finance, security, product, and trust & safety teams to combat fraudulent and abusive actors
  • Monitor emerging attack patterns and continuously improve system defenses
  • Leverage GPT-5 and advanced models to enhance fraud detection capabilities
  • Develop investigation workflows and enforcement mechanisms
  • Stay ahead of sophisticated, well-resourced adversaries through continuous learning
