About this role
Pure Storage seeks a Hardware Design Engineer to develop innovative SSD storage solutions for their Datastore team. You'll manage complete hardware design lifecycles from concept through production, focusing on high-performance, energy-efficient storage systems while collaborating across teams and with external partners.
What you'll do
- Plan, lead, and debug SSD hardware designs from concept to production
- Contribute to all product lifecycle phases including architecture, design, validation, and sustaining
- Drive interoperability testing across server/storage systems and SSDs
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues with internal teams and JDMs
- Evaluate system-level tradeoffs in mechanical, thermal, power, and signal integrity
- Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations for field issues and customer escalations

- PCIe, DDR, NAND, SPI, and I2C bus technologies
- Hardware validation at electrical, SI, protocol, and functional levels
- High-speed oscilloscope and differential probe proficiency
- Python and BASH scripting

- Thermal and mechanical design evaluation
