Mechanical Product Engineer
About this role
Lead mechanical product engineering for next-generation data storage hardware, bridging design innovation with scalable global manufacturing. You'll drive design-for-manufacturability strategies, oversee new product introduction through production ramp, and resolve complex technical issues across global supply chain partners.
What you'll do
- Partner with Hardware Engineering on design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFA) and supply chain optimization to reduce costs and manufacturing risk
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle from prototype through production, establishing process controls and validation plans
- Perform dimensional stack-up, tolerance, and GD&T analysis to ensure assembly robustness and identify manufacturing risks
- Serve as technical lead for global manufacturing partners, triaging mechanical, assembly, and reliability issues to maximize yield and field quality
- Manage engineering changes via PLM systems and oversee fixture readiness, process optimization, and technical documentation
- Structure and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) across product lifecycles to ensure data accuracy
