Software Engineer, Core Product

About this role

Ramp seeks a backend engineer to build and scale core infrastructure for spend management, card transactions, and approval workflows that process billions of dollars. You'll work on intelligent systems integrating AI, financial infrastructure, and partner ecosystems while owning projects end-to-end.

What you'll do

• Design and scale backend systems for spend controls, approvals, and card transactions
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to build user-focused solutions
• Integrate with Ramp's AI platform for policy enforcement and anomaly detection
• Own complex projects from architecture through deployment and monitoring
• Partner with platform and integrations teams on reliability and data consistency
• Optimize transaction and policy infrastructure for performance and resilience

What they're looking for

• Backend systems and API design
• Python, Go, or TypeScript
• PostgreSQL and AWS
• Observability and monitoring tools
• Product sense and business acumen
• Fintech or payments experience (preferred)
• Distributed systems for transactional data
• ERP or accounting system integrations (preferred)
