About this role

Reddit seeks a Backend Engineer to join the Identity and Access Management team, designing and maintaining critical systems for user authentication and authorization across millions of daily users. You'll build highly performant, scalable IAM services while collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance Reddit's identity and access control infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop distributed backend services for authentication and authorization systems at scale
  • Collaborate with product, security, and client engineering teams to define and execute the IAM roadmap
  • Select, scope, and execute high-leverage projects that align with Reddit's technical goals
  • Improve system performance, scalability, and architecture quality
  • Work cross-functionally across Reddit Engineering to support IAM initiatives
  • Continuously learn and enhance technical and non-technical capabilities
