About this role

Redwood Materials seeks a Substation Electrical Engineer to design and oversee high-voltage electrical infrastructure (69kV–345kV) for industrial substations supporting battery recycling operations. You will lead substation design, perform grid studies, coordinate with utilities and ISOs, and serve as Engineer of Record for renewable and battery energy storage projects.

What you'll do

  • Lead design of high-voltage AC substations (69kV–345kV) and their integration with transmission and distribution systems
  • Develop single-line diagrams, physical layouts, protection/control systems, relay coordination, and grounding plans
  • Perform grid simulations and stability studies using PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, and ASPEN OneLiner
  • Execute short-circuit, load-flow, and arc-flash analysis studies
