About this role
Relativity Space seeks a Staff Spacecraft Responsible Engineer to lead end-to-end spacecraft bus definition, integration, and delivery for interplanetary science missions. You'll own spacecraft-level requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors from design through launch and operations.
What you'll do
- Define and manage spacecraft bus requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets across power, mass, thermal, and communications
- Serve as technical and programmatic lead ensuring spacecraft subsystems meet mission objectives throughout lifecycle
- Collaborate with external spacecraft bus providers and internal teams to oversee procurement, integration, and test
- Lead cross-functional coordination between payload teams and spacecraft subsystem engineers to resolve conflicts
- Execute launch campaigns and support mission operations from ground systems perspective
- Track and report on spacecraft-level performance metrics and risk mitigation
