NVH Engineer
About this role
ALSO is hiring a Senior/Staff NVH Engineer to lead noise and vibration development for electric drive units and vehicles. You'll combine simulation, lab testing, and vehicle validation to optimize NVH performance across multiple EV programs while collaborating with design, controls, and manufacturing teams.
What you'll do
- Lead NVH development of drive units and complete vehicles from concept through production
- Develop and validate CAE models using modal, forced response, and transfer path analyses
- Conduct vehicle, component, and dynamometer-level NVH testing to identify sources and mechanisms
- Define NVH targets, metrics, and acceptance criteria for drive units, belts, and structural systems
- Recommend design improvements for motors, gears, housings, bearings, mounts, and isolation systems
- Collaborate with controls engineers to optimize motor control, PWM strategies, and harmonic injection

- NVH simulation tools (Simcenter 3D, Abaqus, Ansys, Nastran)
- NVH testing software (Siemens Simcenter Testlab, Head Acoustics, Artemis)
- Transfer Path Analysis and modal correlation (MAC)
- MATLAB and Python for automation and data analysis
- Electric motor NVH and electromagnetic excitation mechanisms
- Vibration isolation, damping, and acoustic material design
- CANape/CANalyzer controls development tools
- Structural dynamics and psychoacoustic metrics
