About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Harness Design Engineer (Level I or II) to design electrical harnesses for spacecraft and support avionics engineering activities. You'll manage interconnect interfaces, select components, create design documentation, and assist with circuit design, analysis, prototyping, and testing for satellite and space systems programs.
What you'll do
- Design and layout electrical harnesses for spacecraft, including connector selection, wire sizing, and shielding specifications
- Generate pinout tables and interconnect documentation based on spacecraft electrical diagrams
- Create and maintain harness bills of materials in the PLM tool
- Develop test plans and procedures for avionics subsystems and components
- Perform analysis to optimize avionics circuits for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on electronic assemblies
