About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Propulsion Engineer I to support the development and testing of the Archimedes engines powering the Neutron medium-lift rocket. You'll own engine subsystems, lead test campaigns, analyze performance data, and drive design improvements for flight readiness in a fast-paced aerospace startup.

What you'll do

  • Design, analyze, test, and validate next-generation propulsion hardware for flight operations
  • Develop requirements and deliver designs that meet program milestones and flight certification standards
  • Execute engine test plans, conduct hotfire testing, and perform post-test data analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration, testing, and problem resolution
  • Support flight operations including engine acceptance testing and post-flight analysis
  • Drive system architecture trades and optimize requirements for vehicle integration
