About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Spacecraft GNC Engineer (I or II level) to design and develop guidance, navigation, and control systems for its diverse spacecraft fleet. You'll work across the full engineering lifecycle—from algorithm development through flight software implementation, integration, and testing—while collaborating with systems, avionics, flight software, and mission operations teams.

What you'll do

  • Design flight software, algorithms, and simulation products for GNC/ADCS systems
  • Develop spacecraft autonomy tools and constellation management capabilities
  • Select GNC components and design subsystems; define fault detection and response strategies
  • Execute hardware-in-the-loop testing, Monte Carlo simulations, and test process development
  • Integrate flight and simulation software with analysis, test, and operations tools; support design reviews
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and remote offices to maintain schedules, milestones, and technical status
