About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Spacecraft Operations Engineer II to manage the health and performance of a growing satellite fleet across diverse mission phases. You'll design ground and flight software, develop automation solutions, and collaborate across engineering teams to support commercial and government space missions from the Littleton, CO office.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop ground software for spacecraft operations, including automated scripting and testing frameworks
  • Create flight software sequences and fault detection/isolation/recovery (FDIR) configurations for spacecraft health management
  • Support spacecraft integration testing (TVAC, propulsion, DITL) and validation using simulation tools like flatsat and HITL
  • Generate and maintain mission requirements, performing verification and validation across subsystems
  • Participate in on-call operations shifts and ensure continuous integration testing of operational code
  • Develop interface specifications, concepts of operations, and technical documentation for cross-site teams
