About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Spacecraft Propulsion Components Engineer I to lead the design, development, and testing of propulsion system components for advanced space missions. You'll own technical aspects from concept through production, guide engineering teams, and support civil, commercial, and defense customers.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end development of new or existing propulsion products and systems
- Design propulsion components using CAD, perform performance calculations and engineering analysis
- Plan, execute, and analyze propulsion system tests with proper instrumentation
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, reports, and flight hardware designs
- Manage project schedules, priorities, and coordinate tasks across engineering and technician teams
- Mentor team members and establish engineering excellence standards through documentation and review processes
