About this role
Roku seeks a Design Engineer to build and maintain the technical platform powering AI-assisted design workflows across the UX team. This role bridges design and engineering, owning infrastructure for prototypes, AI integrations, and secure access to product data while supporting designers with tools and technical guidance.
What you'll do
- Own the technical platform and architecture for AI-assisted design workflows across research, concept, review, prototyping, and measurement stages
- Build and maintain integrations connecting AI tools to design systems, ensuring reliability through versioning and quality checks
- Establish secure, compliant patterns for designer-built tools accessing real product data in partnership with security and privacy teams
- Design and operate hosting and deployment infrastructure for designer prototypes, micro-apps, and tools requiring no engineering support
- Serve as primary technical liaison between UX and engineering, representing infrastructure needs in architectural decisions
- Develop and maintain shared libraries of AI tools, workflows, assistants, and UI components for team prototyping
