Outfit Build Engineer
About this role
Saronic Technologies seeks an Outfit Build Engineer to oversee the design, integration, and installation of systems on autonomous surface vessels. Based in Franklin, LA, you'll work hands-on at the shipyard coordinating equipment installation, systems integration, and design changes while collaborating remotely with engineering teams in Austin.
What you'll do
- Design and oversee installation of outfit systems including HVAC, piping, deck equipment, and mission systems for autonomous vessels
- Serve as liaison between engineering, drafting, and production teams to resolve technical challenges during construction
- Identify non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and drive resolution through Issue Review Boards and rework plans
- Lead and coordinate Engineering Change Orders with traceability, communication, and verification
- Perform fit-checks, clearance verification, and functional testing of mechanical systems and deck equipment
- Manage CAD models to document as-built changes and support design reviews

- Piping design and ASME B31 codes
- HVAC systems and marine outfit practices
- Maritime standards (ABS, USCG regulations)
- P&ID and isometric drawing interpretation
- Shipyard coordination and clash detection
- Technical communication across trades and teams
- Mechanical systems and equipment installation
