About this role
Scout Motors seeks an Engineer for the Body Systems Engineering Team's Body Metals division in Charlotte to lead the full lifecycle design and development of body metal components for next-generation electric and range-extended vehicles. You'll drive technical decisions, manage cross-functional integration with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality, and ensure delivery of exterior systems like bumpers, lighting, trim, and glazing to specification.
What you'll do
- Lead technical decision-making and approve engineering solutions for body metal subsystems
- Manage cross-functional planning with Design Release Engineers, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics
- Ensure compliance with target specifications for exterior components including bumpers, lighting, trim, glazing, and interior assemblies
- Drive efficient integration of assigned scope into vehicles from concept through production regarding cost, timing, and quality
- Generate documentation for sourcing plans, specification books, and quotation details on schedule
- Collaborate with studio, manufacturing, and purchasing teams on concept design and final product validation
