About this role
Scout Motors seeks an Engineer for Bumper Systems to lead the design and development of exterior systems including bumpers, fascia, and structural components for their electrified pickup trucks and SUVs. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, CAD/analysis work, supplier management, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and production timelines.
What you'll do
- Design and develop vehicle exterior systems including bumpers, fascia, grilles, brackets, and structural reinforcements
- Create and maintain bumper/fascia standards and requirements; lead RFQ packages and supplier selection
- Direct 3D CAD modeling and analytical validation (FEA, CFD, crash analysis) to meet functional and design requirements
- Lead cross-functional product development teams and liaison with internal functions and suppliers
- Ensure all program targets are met including cost, investment, weight, quality, and timing
- Conduct design reviews, testing, and validation during prototype and pre-production phases
