About this role

Sila, a battery materials company, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design manufacturing-scale reactors for silicon carbon anode production. You'll translate R&D concepts into scalable, production-ready equipment while ensuring safety, reliability, and manufacturability across thermal, fluid, and structural domains.

What you'll do

  • Execute mechanical design and development for manufacturing-scale reactors bridging R&D to production
  • Perform thermal, fluid, and structural FEA modeling to validate reactor performance
  • Develop engineering packages including layouts, IP drawings, datasheets, and specifications
  • Apply safety-by-design principles and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate with vendors and fabricators through FAT and field installation
  • Maintain controlled engineering documentation throughout project lifecycle
