About this role

SpaceX seeks a Chemical Texturing Equipment Engineer to own and optimize wet chemical processing equipment for silicon heterojunction solar cell manufacturing at Starlink's facility in Bastrop, TX. You'll ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and scalability while partnering with process engineers to support high-volume production for satellite and deep-space missions.

What you'll do

  • Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput texturing and preclean equipment for solar cell manufacturing
  • Drive equipment reliability and uptime through experiments, data analysis, and capacity optimization to reduce defects and tool variation
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, spare parts programs, and tool matching protocols
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on equipment-related issues including chemical delivery, pumps, and filtration systems
  • Work with facilities and process engineering teams to scale production and meet volume goals
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics and implement continuous improvements
