About this role
SpaceX seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, build, and manage power generation infrastructure at the McGregor Rocket Development Facility. You'll oversee temporary and permanent power systems—including generators, turbines, and solar arrays—while optimizing facility energy demands and collaborating across disciplines to support SpaceX's mission.
What you'll do
- Engineer and oversee construction of power generation plants (generators, turbines, solar, hybrid systems) and their integration with site distribution
- Develop and implement maintenance programs with predictive scheduling and performance monitoring for power generation equipment
- Perform power system analyses including load forecasting, energy modeling, and cost-efficiency optimization for manufacturing operations
- Negotiate grid interconnections with utilities and design on-site generation systems to ensure facility resilience during outages
- Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs while coordinating with contractors on major equipment issues
- Drive sustainable power innovation by integrating energy storage and renewable sources into facility generation strategy
