About this role
SpaceX seeks an Electrical Engineer for its Hawthorne facilities team to design and build high-power electrical systems for advanced manufacturing facilities. You'll work across multiple projects handling power distribution, controls, emergency systems, and infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Design electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, motor control centers, and lighting for facility installations
- Develop specifications for UPS units, emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, and fire/lightning protection systems
- Perform load flow analysis, equipment evaluation, and grounding system design for electrical infrastructure
- Provide technical support to facility technicians for troubleshooting equipment and controllers
- Coordinate electrical installations and maintenance with utility personnel and ensure code compliance
- Review designs against NFPA, NEC, and IBC standards; verify system compatibility with mechanical systems
