About this role
SpaceX seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to design, build, and maintain advanced fire protection and life safety systems for world-class manufacturing and launch facilities. You'll serve as the subject matter expert on fire codes, hazard assessment, and regulatory compliance while working autonomously on diverse, complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Design, analyze, and specify fire and life safety systems for facility infrastructure
- Develop fire code compliance documents and designs for launch and production facilities
- Perform hazardous material analysis for chemical classification, inventory management, and system design
- Support construction teams with field solutions and commissioning activities
- Conduct fire/life safety code reviews and prepare technical reports
- Develop alternate means and methods submissions to authorities having jurisdiction for performance-based design
