Design and develop production machinery, tooling, and automation systems to enable mass manufacturing of Starlink satellites and ground stations. Own projects from concept through fabrication and commissioning while balancing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Design structures, mechanisms, and automation equipment for high-volume satellite production
  • Drive projects from concept through fabrication, testing, and production deployment
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining schedules and budgets
  • Collaborate with flight design and manufacturing teams on parallel development efforts
  • Assemble and commission production equipment in the factory
  • Apply design for manufacturability and assembly principles to optimize production

What they're looking for

  • 3D CAD software (Siemens NX/UGS preferred) and 2D technical drawings
  • Structural design and finite element analysis (ANSYS, FEMAP, NX Simulation)
  • Custom machine design including motors, actuators, linear rails, and bearings
  • GD&T and drafting standards
  • Manufacturing processes (CNC, mills, lathes) with hands-on experience
  • Design for manufacturability and high-volume production scaling
  • Process development, facility layouts, and FMEA methodology
  • Hand calculations for structural analysis
