About this role
SpaceX seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop critical systems for Dragon, the human-rated spacecraft delivering crew and cargo to the ISS. You'll own mechanical design from concept through production and recovery, performing structural analysis and leading design reviews for future missions to the Moon and Mars.
What you'll do
- Own the design and development of mechanical spacecraft systems
- Perform structural analysis using hand calculations, FEA, and CAD
- Lead design reviews with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
- Manage project delivery from early design through production, launch, and recovery
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain technical excellence
- Investigate failures and conduct root cause analysis on flight-critical systems
