About this role
SpaceX seeks an Operations Engineer to optimize the Raptor rocket engine manufacturing facility in Hawthorne, CA. You'll design factory layouts, manage vendor relationships, streamline production processes, and lead cross-functional projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs in this hands-on, fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Design and implement factory layouts with visual controls and linear flow principles
- Conduct vendor negotiations, job walks, and manage supplier schedules
- Lead process improvement walks to identify and eliminate unnecessary steps
- Execute complex manufacturing projects with minimal time and budget impact
- Develop analytical tools to diagnose production, capacity, and cost issues
- Drive continuous system and process improvements across production teams
