About this role

SpaceX is seeking a Screen Printing Equipment Engineer to own and optimize high-throughput screen printing equipment for silicon heterojunction solar cell manufacturing at their Bastrop facility. You will partner with process engineering to ensure world-class reliability, uptime, and scalability for Starlink satellites and deep space missions.

What you'll do

  • Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput screen printing equipment for heterojunction silicon solar cell production
  • Drive equipment reliability and uptime in high-volume manufacturing; run experiments to improve capacity, reduce variation, and minimize defects
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, spare parts programs, and tool matching protocols
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on equipment issues including print heads, squeegee systems, alignment/vision, conveyors, and drying ovens
  • Collaborate with metallization and process engineering teams on tool performance and scaling
  • Support production ramp-up and continuous process improvement initiatives
