About this role
SpaceX seeks a Structures Test Engineer to design, build, and execute large-scale static and dynamic structural tests for Starship. You'll manage mechanical, fluid, and data acquisition systems while leading technicians through test operations at Starbase, TX.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute system-level static and dynamic structural tests from concept through execution
- Design and build mechanical systems ranging from small brackets to large structural weldments
- Design, build, and troubleshoot fluid systems including cryogenic propellants and hydraulic load control
- Design and maintain NI-based data acquisition systems with strain gages, pressure transducers, and other instrumentation
- Develop test procedures, scripts, and software; operate test stands through activation and execution
- Direct technicians on hardware integration, instrumentation installation, and safe handling of large structures
