- Conduct root cause analysis on defects and implement corrective actions at suppliers or SpaceX, re-sourcing when necessary
- Drive design improvements and drawing updates to enhance manufacturability, reduce costs, and minimize defect opportunities
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) for new parts and assemblies, selecting manufacturing methods and suppliers while ramping to production rate
- Manage design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews and PPAP programs to ensure reliability and reduce inspection overhead
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams on supplier vetting, containment activities, and cross-functional problem resolution
What they're looking for
- Machining processes (milling, turning, drilling) and metallic component assembly
- Engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T principles
- PPAP, APQP, FIAR, and quality system standards (ISO 9000, TS, AS9100)
- Root cause problem solving methodologies (8D, Pareto analysis, PFMEA)
- CAD/3D modeling software and engineering drawing creation
- Supplier technical capability assessment and quality process knowledge
- MRP/ERP systems and SQL/PowerBI data analysis
