About this role
SpaceX seeks a Test Engineer specializing in high-pressure oxygen systems for Starship development. You'll design, fabricate, and execute test campaigns for oxygen propellant hardware, managing everything from material-level flammability assessment to full subsystem qualification while ensuring safety and reliability.
What you'll do
- Design and execute material, component, and subsystem-level tests to evaluate hardware performance and mission survivability
- Develop novel test capabilities to assess material and component flammability in high-pressure oxygen environments
- Own complete test campaigns including planning, system activation, operations, data review, and stand equipment design
- Supervise technicians on fabrication and integration of test articles and stand equipment
- Operate National Instruments-based data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and mechanical/fluid systems handling cryogenics and hypergolics
- Identify system hazards and anomalies, then collaborate with design engineers on hardware improvements

- National Instruments DAQ systems and instrumentation (transducers, thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.)

- Programming/scripting (Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar)
- Technical documentation and procedure writing
- Root cause analysis and anomaly investigation
- Mechanical and structural systems troubleshooting
