Cloud Security Engineer

About this role

Stripe is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design and operate core security infrastructure protecting the platform's financial systems and user data. You'll build security controls, implement cloud governance frameworks, and partner with engineering teams to enable secure development at scale.

What you'll do

• Design and operate core security infrastructure used across Stripe's engineering teams
• Build security controls and guardrails for cloud platforms including IAM, access management, and compliance automation
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to establish secure cloud migration paths and manage new service adoption
• Create threat detection infrastructure and security monitoring systems that feed signals to threat response teams
• Develop CI tooling and automation to reduce permissions and enforce security principles
• Evaluate and prototype emerging security tools and practices to advance beyond current industry standards
