About this role
Stripe is seeking a Data Scientist to support its Core Infrastructure team in San Francisco, focusing on predictive modeling for resource allocation, cost optimization, and capacity planning as the platform scales. You'll partner strategically with engineering, leadership, and finance teams to drive data-informed infrastructure decisions that enhance efficiency and reliability.
What you'll do
- Analyze infrastructure usage patterns and workloads to forecast demand and guide capacity planning
- Build predictive models for compute resource consumption and provisioning optimization
- Collaborate with engineers, technical leadership, and finance to inform infrastructure investment decisions
- Extract actionable insights from logs, telemetry, and cloud data to reduce costs and improve system reliability
- Influence both technical and financial strategy through quantitative analysis and recommendations
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high attention to detail
