Software Engineer, Product Security Data Platforms

About this role

Stripe seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a new product security team building a large-scale, customer-facing security data platform. You'll architect high-throughput pipelines that transform millions of security events into actionable intelligence, designing APIs and systems that give enterprises real-time visibility into their security posture.

What you'll do

• Design and implement highly available, low-latency pipelines processing millions of security events per second
• Develop API-first services enabling customers to ingest security signals into their security operations centers
• Partner with security experts to build threat detection logic and anomaly identification systems
• Lead technical roadmap decisions on data modeling, storage, and system architecture
• Set engineering standards for code quality, resilience, and operational maturity in a 99.99%+ availability environment
• Collaborate with core platform and data teams to leverage infrastructure while maintaining security data isolation

What they're looking for

• Data engineering and distributed systems (Kafka, Flink, Spark, or similar)
• System design and architecture leadership
• Programming in Java, C++, or Rust
• High-availability system operations and observability
• Security analytics and threat detection (preferred)
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform preferred)
• Technical communication and mentorship
• Full-stack or front-end development (preferred)
