Data Center Mechanical Engineer
About this role
TensorWave seeks a Data Center Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and optimization of advanced thermal management systems for hyperscale AI compute facilities. You'll manage the full lifecycle—from design review and CFD modeling through construction commissioning—focusing on liquid-first cooling topologies and extreme heat load scenarios.
What you'll do
- Lead design review and technical validation of advanced thermal management systems for hyperscale data centers with focus on liquid-first cooling
- Design and model cooling infrastructure including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and distribution piping for extreme AI hardware heat loads
- Perform CFD modeling to optimize airflow and liquid flow distribution, ensuring thermal containment and efficiency
- Provide engineering guidance during construction and commissioning to ensure optimal performance metrics (PUE/WUE)
- Ensure all designs comply with ASHRAE standards, local building codes, and corporate sustainability requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mechanical systems with business objectives
