About this role
Terran Orbital seeks a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain quality management systems for satellite manufacturing, with focus on incoming inspection, process improvement, and customer compliance. This role supports product reliability and manufacturing excellence across module and vehicle assembly processes in a fast-growing aerospace company.
What you'll do
- Serve as primary contact for incoming inspection and module/vehicle kitting inspection activities
- Develop inspection metrics and manage Material Review Board dispositions to reduce costs
- Execute quality management systems aligned with company strategy and customer requirements
- Develop and analyze data to validate processes against quality and reliability standards
- Drive defect reduction through PPAP, CAPA, and root cause analysis methodologies
- Manage customer complaints and ensure timely corrective action implementation

- AIAG Core Tools (PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA)
- High-reliability manufacturing and HI-REL customer requirements
- Root cause and failure analysis (RCCA, CAPA)
- IPC Industry Standards, MIL-STD, NASA guidelines
- Statistical process control and process capability analysis
- Electronics assembly and machining operations knowledge
- Customer complaint investigation and resolution
