About this role

Torc seeks a FinOps Engineer to manage cloud costs across multi-cloud environments, optimize spending, and drive cost accountability across engineering teams. You'll design cost models, implement tagging strategies, forecast budgets, and collaborate with engineering and finance to maximize cloud efficiency while supporting the company's autonomous vehicle software development.

What you'll do

  • Manage cloud cost optimization including analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and anomaly detection across multi-cloud environments
  • Execute full FinOps lifecycle activities (Inform, Optimize, Operate) using cloud cost management tools with engineering and finance teams
  • Design cost models, implement tagging and allocation strategies, and optimize rates through reserved instances and savings plans
  • Investigate root cause of cost anomalies, budget variances, and misconfigured cloud resources
  • Build showback/chargeback models, dashboards, and verification strategies for cost optimization initiatives
  • Design systems to aggregate and analyze cloud billing and usage data across the organization
