ISSE/ Cybersecurity Engineer I
About this role
Trace3 seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer I to serve as a technical security leader for DoD programs in AWS classified environments. The role focuses on Risk Management Framework execution, system hardening, vulnerability assessment, and Authority to Operate documentation to protect mission-critical infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Design and implement secure architectures across multi-level systems, AWS cloud, and on-premises networks aligned with NIST 800-53 and DoD standards
- Lead Risk Management Framework activities including system categorization, control selection, implementation, and continuous monitoring
- Develop and maintain security documentation such as System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and Plans of Action & Milestones
- Conduct vulnerability scans using tools like Nessus, ACAS, and SCAP; analyze findings and drive remediation efforts
- Implement and validate system hardening in accordance with DoD and industry security standards
- Coordinate with Authorizing Officials, assessors, and systems engineering teams to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate
